Peacock Warli Painting (Monsoon Celebration)

Warli painting is a folk art tradition of painting which existed in India since times immemorial.

  • These paintings are an exemplar of multiplicity which resides in Indian paintings.
  • Warli paintings of India bring information to us regarding life and communication which existed in the days of old.
  • Warli Paintings in India are very unusual and stand apart from other folk and tribal paintings of India.
  • The Warli paintings and their art form is analogous to the pre-historic cave paintings in its finishing.

The above warli painting made by me describes the celebration of people during the onset of monsoon. Peacock can be seen dancing, people singing, dancing and rejoicing.

The painting has been done on purple hand made paper with white colour.
