Quilled Letter A

After making a lot types of flowers and shapes (and a 3D Ganesha), it was time for some lettering with quilling paper strips. With an aim to make a quilling board bearing the word welcome, i started quilling letters, or say, started with the letter A, just for trial, to check I if can go on.
Completed on 21st of May, 2016.

I never went beyond the letter A, 😅😀😁

Tri-coloured Glossy Homemade Ganesha Nameplate

A very simple nameplate.
I used craft papers for the background and drew Lord Ganesha and the name with a black marker. I covered it with a transparent sheet, here I used the ones we use for laminating important documents, cause they are thick and will prevent my nameplate from being deteriorated.
Completed on 2nd of December, 2014.

After I stuck it above the doorbell, my neighbours liked it very much. I made one for them too, and another one for my former teacher-she really wanted one and asked me to make it. All in the same pattern just with another colour combinations.

I removed it after I made a new nameplate with a 3D Ganesha made by quilling.

Bidai Celebration Warli Painting

Another try at Warli painting.

I had to make 3 similar Warli paintings (for a reason) pertaining to wedding celebration. I made these on purple coloured handmade paper with white paint. Yep, I like purple colour.
I had them framed after completing them.
Completed on 4th of May, 2014.

I did this Warli painting again, I had an order. This time I chose another colour combination. I used black on ochre coloured handmade paper.
Completed on 7th of October, 2015.

Tabletop Waterfall (Homemade)

It all started a month ago, in the vacation after the semester exams. I was thinking about how to spend the remaining holidays and decided to do something creative.
I always liked the tabletop waterfalls I have seen in the market. But we didn't own one. So I decided, why not make one ? I searched for ideas on the internet, saw many pieces on Flipkart, Snapdeal, Amazon and by Google image search. It was difficult to choose one design. All the waterfalls were kind of modern and minimalistic, and not of the type that i saw many times in the local market. I finalized the design by combining elements from a lot of waterfalls, and gathered the materials needed.

Though it was challenging  to create the shapes using Plaster of Paris, the end product is astonishing . I liked the texture I gave it to resemble like rock formations. The multicoloured waterproof LED lights gave it a marvelous appearance. For frondescence, i embellished it with some artificial plants.

I enjoyed making this tabletop waterfall and just can't stop looking at it while hearing the serene flow of water as it flows down from one cavity to another.

Peacock Warli Painting (Monsoon Celebration)

Warli painting is a folk art tradition of painting which existed in India since times immemorial.

  • These paintings are an exemplar of multiplicity which resides in Indian paintings.
  • Warli paintings of India bring information to us regarding life and communication which existed in the days of old.
  • Warli Paintings in India are very unusual and stand apart from other folk and tribal paintings of India.
  • The Warli paintings and their art form is analogous to the pre-historic cave paintings in its finishing.

The above warli painting made by me describes the celebration of people during the onset of monsoon. Peacock can be seen dancing, people singing, dancing and rejoicing.

The painting has been done on purple hand made paper with white colour.

Stocking Flowers Bunch

Stocking Flowers by Kapil Chandorikar
The flowers above are made by cloth and thin wires. These are known as stocking flowers. As a part of an art activity in my school (10 th standard), I made a lot of them. I made tulips, roses, poinsettia and many more varieties of flowers.

This is a bunch of a few stocking flowers. They are joined using green cloth so as to represent stem.

These artificial flowers look fresh, don't they ?
